Shannon and Thomas Puckett both faithfully served and are serving our country in the military. Thomas is a pilot for the Army. Shannon and Thomas met in the National Guard, when Shannon was also enlisted. Shannon’s full time mission is now at home with their growing family.
The Pucketts have six children — five biologically and one Bulgarian princess. Two of their daughters have severe complex medical needs that require around-the-clock care. Aly was diagnosed with epilepsy and cerebral palsy at two months old; she is 8 years old and her seizures continue. Because of their experiences parenting Aly, they felt called to adopt a child with special needs. Their Bulgarian princess (Andrea) has cerebral palsy, hearing loss, severe global delays, and autism. The other four children are between 11 and 2, and keep them on their toes! They are now in the process of adopting two precious special-needs boys from China.
This past October, they saw a need for a host family for a boy from China. The Pucketts answered the call and hosted him. The experience was wonderful (shout-out to hosting!) and the Pucketts are pursuing his adoption. In Shannon’s words, “He folded right into our blessed chaos. Wen has grown up his entire life within the walls of the Shenzhen orphanage. He was born with hydrocephalus, and had corrective surgery in 2009. He is smart, caring and brings joy to everyone he meets. We pray that this will be Wen's last year within the walls of an orphanage. We are so excited to bring him home and make him a forever part of our family."
Their second sweet baby boy was on a wait list for adoption. He has spina bifida. "My husband and I were going through the listings and praying over each child when we saw his sweet face and knew instantly he was a Puckett." They are eager to meet and snuggle with him and bring him home.
Will you support this sacrificial family today? They have paid all their agency fees in full but still need to raise the necessary travel funds, which they estimate to be roughly $20,000. This is NOTHING to God. And a huge SOMETHING for these two gems to rescue!
